The journey continues: the T3ST titanium frame
The first Speedtraveller was launched back in 2012 as a touring bike for fast rides and an all-year-round training partner for cyclists. Even before the terms ‘bikepacking’ and ‘gravel bike’ had entered common parlance in German, it was already standing out thanks to a number of essential features.
With its sporty yet comfortable blend of road bike and cyclocross geometry, it has always been our ‘jack-of-all-trades’ and has quickly won many lifelong fans as a result – the new Speedtraveller 3 has now been further optimised in this regard.
What’s new with the Speedtraveller 3
As the T3ST, it now boasts a slightly revised geometry: the chainstays, extended by 5 millimetres, ensure a smoother ride and allow for tyre clearance of up to 45 millimetres.
The BB-Box bottom bracket is a new technical feature and, in addition to a T47 oversized threaded bottom bracket and improved stiffness in the bottom bracket area, now finally offers sufficient space for internal cable routing all the way to the dropouts. Shifter cables and brake hoses therefore only exit the frame at the dropouts, ensuring a clean cable routing. Full cable integration through the head tube and steerer tube has been deliberately omitted.
This versatile titanium frame, ideal for bikepacking or your future gravel bike, is compatible with 1- and 2-speed drivetrains and features mounting points for three bottle cages, a top-tube bag, as well as mudguards and/or a luggage rack, if desired.
The frame weight in size M/56 is approx. 1,950 g, including the thru-axle (47 g) and screws (approx. 40 g).
