Lightweight aluminium frame
Thanks to the cleverly designed 6061 aluminium tube set with a UDH derailleur hanger, the Michl frame is extremely light, stiff and robust all at once. The modern all-road geometry is sporty yet balanced and specifically tailored to the needs of young cyclists: A short rear triangle makes the bike particularly agile and manoeuvrable. Combined with a shortened top tube and head tube, this noticeably improves the bike’s handling and enhances control and riding safety. A steep seat angle, combined with child-friendly cranks, supports ergonomic and efficient pedalling and helps to conserve valuable energy.
Optimal control thanks to an ergonomically designed cockpit
The 38 cm narrow handlebars from Italian component manufacturer Deda Elementi impress with their child-friendly ergonomics, offer a high level of comfort and ensure safe and controlled handling on tight bends, fast descents and during sprints. Shifting and braking are handled by the smooth-operating Shimano GRX600 shift/brake levers, whose reach can be perfectly adjusted to suit smaller children’s hands, thus offering precise control and maximum braking performance with minimal effort.

Smooth-shifting gears with finely graduated road bike gear ratios
Whether riding steeply uphill or fast downhill – with the high-quality Shimano GRX600 11-speed groupset featuring a GRX810 rear derailleur, young road cyclists can change gears precisely, smoothly and reliably. The Road Edition features a finely graduated 11–34 road cassette. Combined with the 30 mm-wide Schwalbe One Performance tyres and the 30T chainring, this results in a calculated chainline length of 5.89 m. Tailored for young riders in the U15 category, as a maximum of 6.20 m is permitted here.
A child-friendly crank. Powerful and clever.
We have specifically designed the lightweight VPACE SL children’s crankset to suit the anatomy of young riders with narrower hips. With a Q-factor of 150 mm, it allows for a natural leg position, resulting in greater efficiency when pedalling and noticeably better power transfer. Thanks to the 3-hole direct mount, changing the chainring is a matter of seconds. And because the crank length also has a major influence on power transfer and efficiency, we tailor this to the specific model size.

The 29er principle combined with lightweight wheels
With the VPACE 29er concept, we use large wheels across all model sizes. For example, a child who is 135 cm tall can already ride a Michl275 with 28-inch wheels. Why does this make sense? Because large wheels roll more efficiently and offer a smoother ride. Combined with our lightweight VPACE Disco 30 wheels, young road cyclists benefit from significantly better acceleration, greater efficiency and improved safety on tarmac. Super-lightweight, 35 mm-high carbon wheels from Leeze (1,125 grams) are available as an optional extra at an additional cost; these are in a class of their own when it comes to weight and aerodynamics.
Scope of application
The Michl Road Bike is a Category 2 cycle and is therefore ideally suited to unpaved paths, gravel tracks and gentle trails. Jumps and drops of up to 15 cm are no problem, provided you have the right riding technique. Whether it’s a leisurely ride, a fast training lap or a race, the Michl delivers on its promises. The Michl28 children’s bike has been designed for a maximum rider weight of 65 kg.

The perfect size
The chart shows a recommendation based on body height. However, depending on your riding style, body proportions or personal preferences, a smaller or larger model may also be suitable. Simple adjustments, such as a longer or shorter stem, a different seatpost or the position of the saddle, allow you to tailor the bike perfectly to your needs.
